This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of kissfocus.com ("we", "us", "our", or the "Operator") collects, uses, processes, and protects your personal information when you access and use KissFocus (the "Service").

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, you must immediately stop using the Service.

For users accessing the Service from jurisdictions with special mandatory legal requirements for personal data protection, you hereby confirm that you will independently ensure compliance with all applicable local data protection laws when using the Service. The Operator shall not bear any additional compliance obligations beyond the scope expressly stated in this Policy.

Language Precedence

This Policy is executed in the English language, which shall be the exclusive authoritative version for all purposes. The Operator may provide translations of this Policy into other languages for your convenience only. Such translations are non-binding, and in the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail in all circumstances.

1. Information We Collect

We strictly limit the collection of information to only what is necessary to provide and optimize the Service. We do not collect direct personal identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address, unless you voluntarily provide them to us through contact. The information we collect is categorized as follows:

1.1 Timer and Usage Data

We adhere to strict processing rules for the content you input through the Service's timer and task management functions:

  • Local Storage by Default: Your timer settings, task lists, and session history are stored locally in your browser using localStorage by default. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable optional cloud synchronization features.
  • No Mandatory Server Storage: We do NOT require you to store your timer or task data on our servers. All core functionality works with purely local storage.
  • Optional Cloud Sync: If we offer optional cloud synchronization features in the future, you will have explicit control over whether to enable them, and we will clearly explain what data is synced and how it is protected.
1.2 Technical and Usage Information

We collect minimal, anonymous technical information when you access the Service, which is necessary to maintain service stability and security. This includes:

  • Browser type and version, device type, operating system, and screen resolution
  • General geographic location (country/region level only, based on your IP address, no precise location data is collected)
  • Language preference settings
  • Service access time, page visit duration, and basic interaction patterns with the timer functions
  • Network request information (including IP address, only used for anti-fraud, security protection, and regional adaptation)

Data Retention Period: The above technical information is retained for a maximum of 12 months, after which it is automatically and permanently deleted. Anonymized, aggregated statistical data that cannot identify any individual user may be retained indefinitely for service optimization.

1.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website, and strictly distinguish between Essential Cookies and Non-Essential Cookies:

1.3.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the basic operation and core functionality of the Service, and are exclusively used to:

  • Maintain the stability and basic functionality of the timer service
  • Remember your language preference and basic session settings during your visit
  • Ensure the security of the Service, prevent fraud, and block malicious access
1.3.2 Non-Essential Cookies

These cookies are not required for the core functionality of the Service, and will only be enabled after we obtain your explicit, prior consent. They include:

  • Analytics Cookies: Used to collect anonymous usage data to help us optimize the Service (including Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity)
  • Advertising Cookies: Used to serve relevant advertisements to you through third-party ad services (including Google AdSense)
1.3.3 Your Cookie Controls

You can manage or withdraw your consent to Non-Essential Cookies at any time through our cookie consent banner on the website homepage, or through your browser settings. You can disable all cookies through your browser settings, but please note that disabling Essential Cookies may cause the core timer function of the Service to be unavailable.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy, and will not use your information for any other purpose without your explicit consent. The usage purposes include:

  • Providing, maintaining, and optimizing the core timer and focus service
  • Ensuring the security and stability of the Service, preventing fraud and malicious attacks
  • Analyzing service performance and user behavior to optimize user experience
  • Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and binding legal processes
  • Serving relevant advertisements only with your explicit consent to Advertising Cookies

3. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to assist with the operation of the Service, including analytics and advertising service providers. We only share minimal necessary information with these third parties, and require them to comply with applicable data protection laws and this Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the independent data processing activities of these third parties, and we recommend that you read their privacy policies before using the Service.

We will NOT:

  • Sell, rent, or lease your personal information to any third party
  • Share your timer or task data with any third party (since it's stored locally on your device by default)
  • Use your information for advertising purposes without your explicit consent

We may only share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With your explicit, written consent
  • To our service providers who are bound by contract to process data only in accordance with our instructions and this Privacy Policy
  • When required by applicable laws, regulations, binding legal orders, or mandatory government requests from competent authorities
  • To protect our legitimate rights, property, safety, or the rights, property, and safety of our users and the public
  • In connection with any merger, acquisition, or asset sale, provided that we notify you before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy
3.1 Cross-Border Data Transfer

Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries or regions outside of your country of residence (including the United States, where our third-party service providers are based). We will only transfer your personal information in compliance with applicable data protection laws, and will take appropriate safeguards to ensure the security of your data.

4. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, or destruction, in accordance with applicable data protection laws. These measures include:

  • Full-process encryption of data in transit via HTTPS/TLS
  • Strict access control for service management, with only necessary personnel having access to limited technical data
  • Regular security vulnerability scanning and system updates
  • Anonymous processing of usage analytics data to reduce the risk of individual identification

Important Note About Local Storage: Since your timer and task data is stored locally in your browser by default, you are responsible for backing up this data. Clearing your browser data or using a different device will result in the loss of this locally stored data. We cannot recover locally stored data for you.

Important Disclaimer: No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure. Despite our best efforts, we cannot warrant the absolute security of your information. You access and use the Service at your own risk, and we are not liable for security breaches caused by force majeure, third-party malicious acts, or your own improper operations, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

4.1 Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach that poses a significant risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the competent data protection authority and you in a timely manner in accordance with applicable laws, and take all reasonable measures to mitigate the harm caused by the breach.

5. Your Data Subject Rights

We respect and protect your statutory rights under applicable data protection laws. You have the following rights regarding your personal information we process:

  1. Right to Access: You have the right to request confirmation of whether we process your personal information, and to obtain a copy of the relevant data.
  2. Right to Delete/Erasure: You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your personal information we hold, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

  7. Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you are dissatisfied with our data processing practices.

To exercise any of the above rights, please contact us at the email address provided in Section 8. We will respond to all valid requests within the time limit required by applicable laws, and will not charge you a fee for reasonable requests.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 in regions where the age of digital consent is higher). If you are a parent or legal guardian and become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately. We will take all reasonable steps to permanently delete the relevant information as soon as possible.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
